Employees become more committed and motivated when they are valued. Sometime an appreciation is not expected by employees all the time but a simple thank you or a tap on their back by the supervisor could mean a lot to them. Things become more valuable when they arrive at them unexpectedly. Letting them know how important their work to your organisation, colleagues and overall performance of the business will get them more excited about the work they do.

 

It is special for them when their supervisor acknowledges their work and it is more special when they are appreciated by the top management of and organisation. These “Thank you” does not necessarily have to be involved with expensive giveaways or huge pay raise. Employees do have a need for money but money is not the only thing that might motivate employees. Some are motivated by money and some are not. 

 

Appreciation and acknowledgement of your employees work would be the simplest way to make an employee happy in an organisation. Every single employee should feel that the work they do is appreciated by their supervisors and most importantly the top management. This is a vital aspect of any organisation and the result of this would have major on the efficiency, effectiveness and productivity of the organisation. 

 

There are many things you could do to appreciate and recognize your employees. Some of the little things you could are listed as below.

  1. Use sticky notes – Well this might sound of for many of you since its just sticky notes. But this is the smallest thing a person could do to appreciate someone’s work. What they did might be a small thing but a note on their desk saying thank you and why you left on their desk will give them an extra energy and excitement during work.

  2. Lunch out sponsored by company – Yes company pays for their lunch. Of course not every day but taking them out for a lunch once in while would be an ideal way to thank a whole team.

  3. Recognize the good work – It is utmost important to give credit to an employee when it is needed. Letting others know at a company meeting or a team meeting of someone’s  good work and how it had made things smooth.

  4. Random gifts – you can make these spot gifts as well. This could be gift vouchers for employees as an appreciation for their good work. Receiving a gift on the spot would surely make an employee happy and excited.

  5. Wall of fame – the best goes on to that wall. This is one of the greatest ways that you could say thank you for your employees. The best thing about this particular thing is that not only it appreciates and acknowledges their work but informs everyone about it. This also communicates to other employees that the hard work they do for the organisation are recognize by the company.

Putting up a smile on your employees face really means a lot to them. It does not take a genius to execute the things mentioned above and it really can help to make your employees happy and motivated. These little things definitely can make a big impact on your business. Try it!
